Welcome to The Woolmine!
Here at The Woolmine we specialize in creating one-of-a-kind hand felted clothing, accessories, art work and Children's Picture Books, using wool from sheep and llamas raised on our farm.
We became Woolmine Publishing in 2005 when I wrote my first children's book. Since then we have been travelling to schools throughout Western Canada, presenting this wonderful fibre art to children and adults alike. Each original illustration has been hand felted out of our sheeps wool that we dye ourselves, creating bright colourful illustrations that children love.
Felting is the process of layering raw wool in different directions and then matting the fibres together through agitation, using soap and water. The result is a strong, warm, cushiony fabric.
I hope that adults and children will enjoy my stories that depict life on our farm, enhanced through the vibrantly coloured wool illustrations that I have created for your enjoyment. You may shop for my books on line. Please check out the dates that we will be in your area to view our other products or visit our store near Dinosauar Provincial park,(World Hertitage Site) Please view our map on the contact page.

What Kids Say...
"Tracey was a refreshing, delightful speaker. I so appreciated her kid-centered presentation and enthusiasm. It was facinating to take a look at her illustration process as a textile artist and to understand how she combined it with the writing process. She's a great author. What a treat to spend a period with her. Thanks for finding her and making arrangements for her to come! "
